In the event of high winds, please secure the lid of the roll cart by using a twist tie or rope by tying the two rings together on the front of the roll cart. This will keep the lid from blowing open even if the roll cart blows over

College Contest nets 91 Million Pounds Of Recyclables! In a collegiate battle that lasted eight weeks, RecycleMania pits campus against campus in an all out battle to recycle as much as humanly possible.

To that emerald end, sustainable scolars among 76 New England schools recovered 8.9 million lbs. of recyclables and organics in the nationwide competition.
Nationally, 630 participating colleges recycled or composted 91 million pounds of material that prevented the release of 270 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.

We are a Hatteras Island based recycling service focusing on the visitor population and local residents alike. In our first year, the 2007 summer season, Hatteras Recycle diverted 30 tons of recyclable bottles, cans (glass, plastic & aluminum), cardboard and newspaper from area landfills.

This was done with just one small commercial vehicle and 2 people! All of our recycled material goes into Dare County's recycling program where it is sold in recycling markets. Dare County's cooperation is essential to our success.

We currently service over 1000 homes (vacation and residential) on Hatteras Island with three orange commercial trucks and a crew of nine.
